The first thing I wanted to post from my box was this picture of Gramma and Mildred, taken in November of 1941 in San Antonio. The first things I noticed were that Gramma is wearing saddle oxfords, and that Mildred looks SO much like Virginia.
I thought it was appropriate given that we all just spent a week there this summer. I bet with a little sleuthing we could figure out where they were walking on the riverwalk.
Family names are so funny. You call these two Gramma and Mildred, I call them Gramma and Mother. It seems so weird to think of my Gramma as Mildred since I never heard anyone use that name for her. Most people usually referred to my grandparents as "Ed and Mil". Love the shoulder pads!
